Long lost cousin Pip

Hey mum and dad - remember this stunning young lady? Pip is looking as good as ever in this picture perfect shot - pretty much every picture of my young cousin is cover page material. Found her on facebook - lots of photos of her with fast cars and a guy named Rob who I assume is the owner of said cars - she has done a lot of traveling - last time to England for a Lotus rally of some kind and to see the lotus factory. She looks blissful.

I should be working...

...but I thought I would take a break and put up some pictures.

Me and Jackson soon after his haircut. I got that t-shirt from Stacy for my birthday. It came in the mail included in a big box of bacon. It says "bacon is meat candy".

The people that live behind us made some grape jam and gave us a jar. Niiiice.

It's hard work eating toast!

Jackson saying, "no photo!"

We stopped at a petting zoo...well it was really a garden nursery with a few sheep tied up in the back.

That's it from me!

Hair cut

Jackson had his first real haircut yesterday - after reading Angie's blog about Ashlyn's trip to the dentist I have no room to complain ..... but i had to sit on the chair and bribe him with a lollie pop. Yes ..... more sugar.... my rant in the last post was more me just feeling sorry for myself that my little guy was unwell after I fed him sugar and crap - disclaimer below. Photos to come, J really looks even cuter now, like a real big boy.

disclaimer - Both sets of Grandies (grandparents) cook healthy food for our boy, and offer healthy snacks as they know I don't tolerate a whole lot of crap for J. Those of you who have traveled a lot will know, it is just easier to opt for the quick stuff in packages - and I do it far too much when we are traveling. I was just wanting to warn and rant. After all - that's half the fun of blogging!

Angie - Chuck E Cheese was a great babysitter! J loved all the rides and the pizza was pretty tasty! I am taking Christopher there when you guys come back - he will love it with his big cousin to show him the ropes :)

Well things are a bit out of order with the blog, but try to follow along - above is a picture of Brad and J just before heading out for breakfast at Plymouth. We LOVE our breakfast out - I cook each morning, but its just so nice to start the weekend with delicious food someone else has cooked! We hadn't been out in almost 2 months, so it was a real treat. Between being away (me) and working and travelling (brad) we just didn't' get a chance to enjoy our one true indulgence.

counting - he counts everything. one two three four five six sevvven eight nine and TEN! He also has a puzzle with numbers he does - yes every number goes back in its spot. This can keep him amuzed for at least 10 mintues. He also probably has no idea he is counting or what it means yet.

J missed his Dad while we were gone.J and I stayed in a hotel close to the airport before our early flight to AR. (He was VERY excited to get treats as part of the package deal) I also found out he does not do well with highly processed sugar at all - he got a UTI after his first sugar filled week in AR, also last Sunday we slacked off and gave him too much crap to eat, and just like me, my sister and mother he got a fever from all the junk (ie preservatives). He will also go pretty much crazy/cry/tantrum after too much sugar. So its back to Persian rice and lentils and lots of fruit - which he loves and eats by the ton. I'd love a few rotten banan's to make my bread with. He really is a different kid without sugar - today we went sale shopping, to the post office for like and hour and then to the grocery and he "helped" me the entire day. But like any other mother i don't want him to live in a bubble - so i let him eat chocolate here and there, and a cookie now and then - but all grandparents be warned - proccessed food = crazy feverish kid. Does anyone else have this problem when there kids eat "bad" food. I know its common sence to eat healthy - but the fever and UTI make me wonder if i should be even more vigilant with his food. My mum thought that as he usually doesn't eat proccessed food- when he does eat any - he gets a reaction that is worse as his body just isnt' used to it. Lots of people say to me - but he eats so healthy - a little sugar won't hurt - and I'm o.k with this - a little plain sugar wont - but its the processed stuff - soda/coloured foods/anything with high fructose corn syrup in it. Well shit I'm rambling and there are photos to be seen.

lending a hand at share and care - i wonder if joy got any work at all done with this handful!
Oh the treasures to be found - the entire store is his playgound - and Vickie is always putting away things for his "next visit"

at home on the potty - he likes to pretend to read grown up books - i have not exposed him to the disturbing Kite Runner yet. Although we did let him watch weeds with us.
Mum and Dad this is for you - an all american eating hole. They only served Chicken and dressing which is like stuffing, but a heap of it on a plate covered in a light brown gravy and chicken. We went after church - Jackson attended with Joy while I slept at home - i had ever intention of going, but i ran out of time, and the bed was calling my name.

Arkansas
this is our favortie Kay Kay - I have latched onto her as my friend, even though she is really Joy's friend. I heard she thinks i am a bit run down - I was - maybe i should up my doseage? :) love you Kay Kay - i am o.k

Its all fun and games until someone looses an eye ..... or bangs their head on the steel bar risking a concussion to ensure Jackson was safe at the top.
Well its been a long wait between drinks.... we have been away visiting family - i am yet to get a chance to get the computer as Brad is working pretty much every minute - so I've had to keep you all in suspense...... well its not like anything dramatic has happened, we are all alive. So the past weeks i have been in AR with Jackson, while Brad seemed a little too happy to be enjoying the bed all to himself (Jackson has been in with us for a while now- please no dramatics).

We arrived in AR then went to a strange and confusing land known as Chucky Cheese (?sp) Photos of this land are at the bottom - I was still dazed from an early start and long flight, while Jackson seemed oblivious to everything except the rides and of course his Grandma and Paw Paw - once filled with tasty pizza and soda pretending to be some sort of juice - we then headed to the house, for relaxation - until Zoo day (see below) Our next stop was Nee Nee's or Granny's as she is most well known by. More photos of our stay to come - we alwasy have a great time helping down at Share and Care, while I eat my way through Harrison and gain 4 pounds. I am not friggin kidding - the grease just adhears itself to my belly and stays for the trip home.

holding Jackson back from riding the old tortoise, he was so close you could reach out and touch the old guy - the petting zoo was closed, but we enjoyed seeing all the big animals, including elephants! you can eat lunch and watch them out the window.

Below is chucky cheese......

Dancing with mum - it was good to let loose after the flight though I could have choosen better music.

money paw paw money money money........
the horse was his fav, and kept asking for money for the ride (they have these tokens that are gold you buy first and then put in each ride) after a little while Jackson was putting the money in himself on the rides he could reach - we had an amazing time.

Note the serious look on Bob's face as he steers the horse, Jackson is mesmorised.

Like my new car GrandPop?

For my Dad: Drive safe this week Dad..... enjoy your new hat and lift the back of your jacket! (yes theres a story there but it has to be told from the owner)
