Baptism

A nice shot of brad and I, we enjoyed a glass of wine later in the day at one of the local wineries while Jackson slept in his pram.
God parents Tim and Caz with baby Kate - is she just the most cutest girl ever! We have already decided that she and Jackson should have an arranged marriage! She is 3 weeks in this picture.
Me and my baby boy outside the Church at Richmond.
Jackson slept after his baptism - well it was exaughsting being the centre of attention - so he has his dummy in - which I forgot to remove for the photos - so I'm "one of those mums" who let their baby suck on a dummy in public.

Hello to everyone - Jackson had a lovely Baptism day, with our closest friends along with Joy, joining Brad and me to bring Jackson into the Christian faith. It was a beautiful and inclusive ceremony, with Joy having the privilage of Baptising her Grandson in the very same gown her own son, Brad, wore 29 years ago. We had the ceremony unexpectedly as many Anglican Churches were unable to accomodate us, however on the last minute last week, I contacted the Anglican Church at Richmond who happily let Joy perform the ceremony - and through her tears our son was Baptised.

We celebrated afterwards with our guests Godparents Tim & Caz with baby Kate, Mahind and Bazard, Anthea & Mark with baby Kalen and Joy. Jackson recieved some very treasured engraved gifts and a special gold charm from Mahind and her family. We were overwelmed at the generosity shown for our precious son, and thank all our family and friends who were unable to make it on such short notice for their well wishes and love.

busy busy busy

Most of you are wondering the reason I have not blogged, I can now let you all know I have been vacationing off the coast of Morocco, and the pool boy was taking up far too much of my viewing time - so in between cooling off in the pool, sipping ice cold margaritas and reading the best novel of all time (The Bronze Horseman) I just didn't manage to write.

Reality check

Jackson has been sick, sick, sick - Virus, Sinus infection, Bronchitis, inflamed throat, persistent cough. Brad has been away most every week - seeing Brad on weekends is a treat - but we are so busy there is hardly time to really look at each other. I have been working full time - which has turned into not working much at all due to Jackson being sick and me being the only one home to have to take care of him. So I am behind in my work, which is stressing me out slightly, I am tired. Really tired.

My reality - would anyone want my life? Well I should say I do - because I have loved every minute of being home with Jackson and feeling like i am the mum I always wanted to be. I baked my brains out - poor Jackson has been the recipient of many of my recent efforts. His diet this week consists of 'red lentils with pumpkin, sweet potato, tomato and turnip', 'organic oatmeal with sultanas and figs and some marscapone cheese', 'cranberry and pears', 'apples and cinnamon', 'carrots and other random veges with coriander'. Actually he has eaten like this for a while now - I love cooking for him and creating new dishes for him to try.

I also love cooking in general - I'm sure I was Italian in another life. My recent favorite is home made pumpkin soup (nutmeg is the key) but roast chicken with roasted onions and garlic is a close second. Caz is a big fan of my scones and cream - so was sure to drop some in for her while she recovered in Hospital from a very long birthing process - and cesarean (the two for one which is every mothers nightmare). Her little girl Kate Elizabeth Hynes is sooooooo cute. Another friend from work who I hope to spend some more time with is Kylie - who had a baby girl Naomi Eden two days after Caz! I am so loving seeing these precious little girls.

I have recently found that I really love spending time with friends - and find myself when home procrastinating until I can get out the house again to visit. Mainly I have been visiting Anthea and her bubba Calen and husband Mark. They have basically taken me in while Brad has been away - and I have been so lucky to have them in my life. I even stayed over the other night as Jackson was unwell and I was afraid to get him back out in the cold of winter after just picking him up from Mahinds.

Speaking of our Mahind - who we love, love, love - she has again been the constant to make sense of Jackson's world. With all his sickness I received much advice - and ended up listening to Mahind along with my trusted GP. On one set of advice from a doctor we trialed cutting out of Jackie's milk and dairy - to help with congestion - but Mahind said this was not good as he needed the milk - which was true - he is now soooooo happy to have his 'bot bot' back - and Mahind is really happy too.

Jackie has also taken to trying to crawl - up on all 4's rocking and moving backwards. The cutest thing he has done is to play shy - he snuggles in and looks at people with a cute smile - and you just melt. He also chews his lips all the time as he is again teething - and it is a pretty cute look.

Love to everyone and hope you enjoyed reading my reality. To Angie - I will be calling to chat soon, to Sharon - same and to Joy - looking forward to seeing you in a week and to Vicki - thank-you for dinner! (It was our anniversary dinner and we wouldn't have been able to enjoy it without your kind donation to the Harris family fund!) much love to everyone.
