They Sleep!

Last night both kids slept all night - yes its true we did drug Jackson like the dentist suggested.
Frederonie - our ever lasting baby having his first dig in the snow.
Yes I put her in this getup - and she was super cute for her photo with the Big Guy!
Lastly I hope your Christmas was full of............

today was a nice day - Maggie is sleeping for a good spell at night - though Jackson's teeth are bothering him and keeping him from a good nights sleep most nights - for the most part he is in good spirits in the day. After breakfast with Brad and quick goodbyes its off to work for him. Jackson and I spent the morning coloring (he drew a picture of me and Brad, Maggie and him that I almost want to have framed) and then playing chase outside through what is left of the snow from Christmas, in between feeding Maggie and playing with her to see how big her smiles can get I managed to get through 5 loads of laundry - clean the cupboards and vac the floors, make our room kid free and even make the bed - the point of this I am forever unsure of although I do like any other like to slip inbetween fresh made sheets and a fluffy doona. After stories J had his nap and so did Maggie - and I began to read my Christmas present from Brad - a Russian revolution novel - my favorite genre. Soon it was time to do lunch, followed by the making of oatmeal cookies and pizza dough. Some singing and guitar playing by Jackson to Alison Kraus and my day was almost at an end ...... and i do indeed think i got the biggest smiles and laughs from Maggie today. She is also starting to babble and "talk" and has the cutest girly voice!
I have not had internet for what seems like weeks, the cable guy is coming Thursday to fix everything and perhaps then I can get some more regular posts up along with some photos. Angie has been my designated Christmas photo taker and although she doesn't know it yet - is going to snap some photos of Maggie this week to capture those smiles.
I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas! We did!

christmas party 2009

The Host with Brad's dirty Santa gift - the beer belt.

The Boys at the 3rd Annual Christmas Party hosted by Dara and Tim.
Oh it was a p.j party...... I made an attempted to get Brad into his red long johns but lets just call him the Grinch - I on the other hand tried to be somewhat like a snowflake.... and yes it has been a long while since I had been out the house and was rather excited at the whole prospect of a night with drunken adult converstation.

Maggie seemed to have a pretty good time too. So these are the photos appropriate for family too see - of course there are others, but those will go to a special place in facebook land.
New friends of ours also became engaged this same night and we wish Amy and Sam a bright and happy future together!

Celebrations!
Jackson's 3rd Birthday Party!

Balloons and a few party whistles and paper plates - and we had ourselves a party! We are thankful for Jackson's cousins, who without which it would have just been J and us! He loves all his cousins and asked if Ashlyn and Christopher were coming from Califffornnnnnia - we said they will be here for Christmas - and that satisfied him.
Parse the parcel - an oz game that kids love - especially when they win treats!

A classic garbage bag race - won by Hayes! Parker won second time round, but was disqualified for not taking off his garbage bag once hitting the fence - so Hannah won the prize.

Kammy showing her jumping skills - Jackson did not think getting in a garbage bag was his idea of a good time. The winner in all his glory!
Our Dinosaur cake was THE BEST! Made by his Nee Nee (Joy) though I made the face and spikes! I got the fun bits!

our boy and his cake - he picked out the type of cake from a picture and decided on the colors too. slightly type A personality just like his Mama.

The Bat Cave - his only toy request. He saw it in a toy catalog (all future catalogs will be destroyed) - he doesn't even know what bat man is - but I am sure that will change in time.

His first viewfinder with Where the wild things are pictures - he loves this! Especially since Pat and Elizabeth got him the book, which I have had to read like 20 times.Brad and I were pleased to have Jackson thank each person for their gift and card, he was thrilled with each gift and loved opening them and looking at his cards. He doesn't get gifts from us through the year, so birthday time is extra special and a time to really look forward too for us and him! He does however get lots of special treats all through the year from his grandparents who all spoil him tremendously!.... like with the below ride on - he was SUPER thrilled with this gift from his Grandma and Paw Paw

sometimes trying to get a two and 10 week old to pose for a photo is next to impossible

today i was informed by our dentist for Jackson, he needs half a root canal, cap and 3 other fillings, full xrays and a cleaning.
He would need to be sedated under a general, and regardless of insurance, you are required to pay 1150 upfront before they will even make a booking at the hospital and 99% of cases the insurance does not reimburse this cost.

THESE ARE BABY TEETH! He is one week shy of 3!

can i not just let the bloody tooth fall out on its own??

am i a bad mum for thinking this??

I want my husbands teeth fixed over one little baby tooth!

am i a bad mum for thinking this??

I don't want him to have two general anesthetics in one month.
He is having his facial mole removed this Friday morning.

After the drama of dentist trips, poop accidents, dog eating poop accidents, late naps after WW3 and a baby in a feeding frenzy, then leaving the lights on in the car at the chicken place and having my arse saved by my sister in law who came to jump start the car for us - well, I am ready for a glass of red. I am SO thankful to have family who show up with a smile to jump start my car! In Jackson's own words "YEAHH for Aunty Sharon! She fixed our car!"

Dress ups!

sometimes when I should be tackling the pile of laundry (which is so high on the dryer that I can not longer reach the button to push the dryer on) , or dishes, or thinking about dinner - I prefer to look at my baby and yes - this day I played dress ups!

TA DA! My cutie in a tutu!
in other news - just got the bill for Maggie's birth - 23,693 dollars - and they don't even pay you the 5000 baby bonus here to have your baby like in OZ - thankfully for our insurance our part was only a total of 250 dollars. 200 of which we already paid upfront. Can anyone say socialized medicine please USA!
