Oh the concentration.....

Brad was away last week, and when he returned I made my usual 'happy to see you' banana bread and sugar cookies. Jackson was 'helping' he had his own bowl and pretty much just sifted flour all afternoon. Being the organized little fellow he is - we didn't have much of a mess to clean up. Just so you all know - Jackson has never lost a piece of a puzzle, and the dollar store Mr Potato head from two weeks ago still has all his parts - Jackson keeps his things neat - puts back his little toys in an over the door clear shoe holder. He does NOT take after me. Sure i like to have my things pretty and neat - but the reality is I hide shit in draws just like everyone else I know - well almost everyone else I know. I have a neighbour who's utensils are all lined up in the drawer and never seem to be out of place (I peeked once). so it lends the question - where does he get this neatness from? Maybe a long lost relative was also this attentive at 20months?

Brad may have something to do with it - he teaches Jackson to put back his things after playing with them - even down to the last broken crayon has to go back in the crayon bucket before bed. I am not so into picking things up behind me - anyone who has lived/stayed with me for any leangth of time knows this by my trail I unintentionally seem to leave, along with the doors I seem to never be able to quiet close. But bless him Jackson continues to try to change this bad habit of mine - as Brad has now all but given up, and passed the candle to his son. Jackson closes all my doors for me - and draws and anything else - the dishwasher. He also likes to unpack the dishwasher - which I did teach him, and for which I now suffer through. It takes a LONG time for one little boy to hand me one fork, one spoon and one knife at a time.

New things Jackson is doing this week are saying "what happened?" and "MMOOOOVVVVIE"
Repeatedly. He now pretty much can say any word you ask him too, or at least try - centapede is a hard word to say after all.

He Jumps and jumps and jumps - like really jumps off the ground with both feet as high as he can. It sounds like a baby elephant tramping around the house.

He sits on the potty of his own accord - nothing ever happens, and half the time he is fully dressed. But he doesn't seem to have any adversian to it. I am not going into potty training territory just yet - but rather just putting it out there to get the idea in his head - cause I'm about done with poopy nappies already. I know i know he's only 20months - but he looks way older and his poo is huge.

Update: It is now about an hour or so after I just blogged - Jackson woke up and just did the biggest crap I've ever seen - I kid you not - when I went to flush the poo down the loo I wondered will it fit? The answer : NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Up until this point in my life I've never had to use the household item called a plunger - the GIANT LOO PLUNGER! I don't even have the words to describe my feelings right now. I will be smelling bleach for the next week.

Just in case you ever forget where you are.... there is always one of these nearby to remind you.
MOUSE! J was lucky enough to find a baby mouse - corner it and then call for me to help collect - he spent the better part of the day huddled over the mouse pit. I asked myself outloud "what do you feed a mouse?" then i was like - I so have messed up mum brain - cheese and crackers you holder of a BSN, Grad dip and 30 life years of experience.
Wombat book - he now likes to read it without help. "NOOOO!"
Threatening to tickle -
TICKLED!
Above are a few shots of various Harvard entrances around H Square, while the window is of a pretty shop front just across the road from Harvard. We were on our way around to Rick and Phils for a BBQ with Stacy and her Dad Nathanial who was visiting from the South.

Hey Dad is this truck like yours?

Does it get any better than this?

This is how I like to spend my evenings - watching J play on the beach. He headed straight for the freezing water - he loves it. Strange child of mine.

Big Boats and a rock

On the spare of the moment instead of going for a walk down at a local beach - we thought we'd head down to Plymouth - we forgot it is tourist season and the whole strip was packed. In case you have never seen the rock - don't bother just yet - all under construction and the iconic 'plymouth rock' as small as it is - is surrounded by metal and a small plexiglass window - but as it was raining and the humidity had fogged up the plexiglass - well lets just say we saw what could have been a rock.
Brad is getting his face pulled off by an ever cute Jackson - J likes to hold Brad's ears when walking like this. But currently is taken with pulling his beard.
trying in vain to get my 19th month old boy to be photogenic and FRIGGIN SMILE FOR THE FRIGGIN CAMERA! WITH ME!
My two gorgeous boys.
